Hello, I am Nancy Allen, a fabric artist living in Black Mountain, North Carolina. I`ve had a lifelong passion for decorating fabric. In 1987 I started painting on silk, creating wearable art that won prizes and sold at art festivals in Tennessee and North Carolina, as well as local shops and galleries.
Living in the Appalachian Mountains here inspires me to delve into the mystery, traditions and folklore of the area. In 2021, wanting to reflect that ancient culture, I opened Pagan Scapes with a series of altar cloths featuring images of ravens, black cats, doves and stars in deep space. I recently added goddesses and owls to the mix.
Each piece is a unique creation painted by hand, using professional fabric paints and dyes. If you have an idea of something you want, let me know and I will see what I can come up with.
